Edinburgh Meet!

Hey well firstly apologies for the delayed blog..nights play havoc with my time and so I shall blame that!
Yes, as the heading says, June 18th-20th saw Edinburgh being invaded by a group of  Wow addicts! Oh and for mine and the lads delight, alot of bra wearing women, Hurrah!

Fri saw Mooney and Nystal land first swiftly followed by Morty. Having settled in and spied where each of us all were staying, we promptly headed for the pub on site. We landed a perfect spot smack bang in front of the plasma screen to watch the England match. Nys and Mooney were the odd couple as they were supporting the other team..yahboo to them. Next to join us was Sordid, he is the most well spoken man I have heard in a long time, especially when the discussion was around how a pint of Guinness should be poured...with an irish man no less! I am still not quite sure who won the argument.

Saturday saw us all heading to the town centre for a spot of sight-seeing.By this time reenee and her friend Amanda, had joined us having arrived late the night before. I have got to say that Edinburgh is beautiful and the one day we had really was not enough to do it justice. We strolled up the High Street, looking at all the kilt shops and cashmere shops in the scorching heat...ok not so scorching, but it was lovely and sunny,if a tad windy (and no not from bum thank you!).
We decided to head to Edinburgh Castle and have a mooch round there before hopping on an open top bus..we arrived at said castle and played with the idea of going in, it was £14, we were on a budget,it had absolutely nothing to do with buying alcohol later on *cough*, so decided to just look at it and hop on tour bus instead.
The tour bus was brilliant, ideal if you are heading around Edinburgh centre alot, we also learnt alot about the places there as we went by. I shall pay homage to one stoical, adorable, brave and loyal being. Who stood by their leader through thick and thin and even after death. Here is a picture for you all to admire:

Now isn't he someone to admire?

Well once we had finished the tour,it deposited us fairly conveniently to await Shadow and Gemma's arrival, so we got ourselves a coffee and found a spot in the nearby park to chill out. Amusement was provided by  dog playing fetch with himself.Quite ingenius too.Bless him,he was sat at the top of the incline and would let the ball go, after a few seconds or so, he would then run down and fetch the ball back, again he would lie down chew the ball for a few seconds then promptly let it go again. Now I am not sure who was most entertained by this, the dog or our group!
Well once Shadow and Gemma had arrived we decided to have ourselves afternoon tea! We all landed in the gallery's cafe and once fed and watered decided to wander round the gallery itself. Botacelli,da Vinci to name a few we saw, were all there, we then had a history lesson from one of the attendants there which was interesting!
That done we decided to head back to our digs, poor reenee and Amanda had been walking around with us all morning and afternoon, people forgot they had to walk 26.2 miles that night! so we all went back for some rest and relaxation before the big night!
We regrouped again that evening and headed for the centre again. Having fed ourselves at a Pizza place we wandered up and down the High Street looking for a pub to stay in, having been led up and down by Nys,we went into one ffairly close to our starting point from the Pizza place! There we stayed til Midnight, when last orders were called out. We headed back to our digs again, and saw the first wave of Midnight Moonwalkers. I have got to say the costumes some had on were great and i am so full of admiration for them doing that at Midnight!!
So back at our resting palce we all went our separate ways..well aside from Shadow randomly knocking on my door hehe, at times throughout the night I texted Reenee to keep her going and encourage her..still think she is amazing for doing that!
sunday saw us all a little tired..some hungover I would guess, sadly Nys had departed early in the morning, but the rest of us had our hearty breakfast and checked out..all just in time to see reenee and Amanda return from their epic walk at around 10ish. They looked shattered but still standing! So what a great weekend we had..for those that missed it..shame on you and you missed a great weekend! I cant wait for the next one!

Oh and I really do think this blog should end on a one big Congrats and well done to reenee and amanda for completing 26.2 miles in the night! Well done the pair of you!!!
